Big Mac Lettuce Wrap

This Big Mac Lettuce Wrap delivers all the iconic flavors of a Big Mac without the bun. I have nothing against a good bun, but after weeks of eating holiday food, this feels right. This wrap is high in protein, low in carbs, and surprisingly filling. Crisp iceberg lettuce wraps around savory ground meat, sharp cheddar, fresh tomatoes, crunchy pickles, and a creamy, tangy sauce that pulls everything together. It is quick to make, easy to prep ahead, and perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Big Mac Sauce

  • ¼ cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp mayo
  • 2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • ½ tsp white vinegar
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder

Ground Meat Filling

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ sweet yellow onion minced
  • ½ lb lean ground beef or turkey
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper

Everything Else

  • 4 whole iceberg lettuce leaves
  • cup red onion diced
  • 2 Roma tomatoes sliced thin
  • 3 slices cheddar cut in half
  • 12 sweet pickle slices

Instructions

  • Add all of the Big Mac Sauce ingredients to a small bowl and mix well
  • Add the olive oil, onions, salt, and pepper to a skillet and cook over medium heat until the onions are translucent.
  • Add the ground meat and continue to cook. As the meat cooks, use a spatula to break the meat down into smaller pieces. Continue cooking until all the meat is cooked through, then remove from the heat and let cool.
  • Place the lettuce leaf on top of a 10 by 10 piece of parchment paper.
  • Fill each lettuce leaf with a few tablespoons of seasoned ground beef, 1 rounded tablespoon of the Big Mac sauce, a few teaspoons of diced red onions, 2 slices of tomato, 3 pickles, and ½ a slice of cheddar.
  • Wrap the lettuce around the filling as you would a burrito, then wrap the lettuce "burrito" with parchment paper.
