❤️ Why You’ll Love My Big Mac Stuffed Bread

My Big Mac Stuffed Bread is every bit as over-the-top and nostalgic as it sounds. And I wouldn’t have it any other way! The ground beef cooks down until it’s tender and flavorful, the onions soften just enough, and the layers of cheddar turn into the kind of gooey, melty goodness you expect from a Big Mac. The chopped pickles add that signature tang, and the bacon gives you smoky crunch in every single bite.

And then there’s the Big Mac sauce of course! It’s creamy, tangy, a little sweet, a little smoky. It’s simple to make, ridiculously satisfying, and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser whether you’re serving it for game day, movie night, or a unique weeknight dinner.

👩‍🍳 How to Make My Big Mac Stuffed Bread

To make this Big Mac Stuffed Bread, start by cooking the beef. Add the ground beef to a medium skillet over medium-high heat, then season with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Let it brown, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks, until it’s no longer pink and the edges get a little golden.

Once the beef is cooked through, add the diced onions and let them soften in the pan for another 2 minutes. When everything is fragrant and tender, remove the pan from the heat and drain any excess fat.

Next, prepare the loaf. Slice the top off the sourdough and gently remove most of the soft interior (the “guts”) being careful not to break through the bottom.

Now it’s time to build. Start with a layer of cheese, using about one-third of the cheese. Add all the beef, then another layer of cheddar. Sprinkle on the chopped pickles, the cooked bacon slices, and finish with the remaining cheddar on top.

Bake at 375°F for about 15 minutes. When it comes out of the oven, top it with sliced pickles, crumbled bacon, and a generous drizzle of Big Mac Sauce.

🪄 Tips and Tricks

  • Draining the beef well keeps the loaf from getting soggy and greasy.
  • Top with extra sauce right before serving — the finishing touch that makes every slice taste like the real thing.

🗒 Variations

  • More crunch? Sprinkle crispy fried onions between the layers or on top after baking.
  • Love extra sauce? Swirl some Big Mac sauce right into the beef mixture before stuffing the loaf.
  • Going full Big Mac vibes? Add shredded lettuce after baking for that classic touch.
  • Want a little heat? Add sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce before serving.

🗒 Substitutions

  • No sourdough loaf? Use French bread, Italian bread, ciabatta, or any sturdy loaf you have on hand.
  • No pickles? Use relish or chopped banana peppers for a similar tangy bite.
  • Avoiding beef? Use ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based crumbles. Just season well!
  • Dairy-free? Swap in your favorite dairy-free cheese and use a vegan mayo for the sauce.

👝 How to Store Leftovers

This Big Mac Stuffed Bread leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. The bread will firm up as it chills, but just warm it in the oven or air fryer until the cheese melts again and the edges crisp back up. Avoid microwaving if you can, since it can make the bread a little soft.

🤔 Common Questions

Can I make this ahead of time?

Yes! Follow steps 1–5, assemble the loaf, then cover it tightly with foil and refrigerate. Bake uncovered for 15 minutes when you’re ready to serve.

Can I use a different type of bread?

Any sturdy loaf works. Sourdough holds up best, but French bread, Italian bread, or ciabatta are great swaps.

Can I make this without bacon?

Of course. Just leave it out or replace it with turkey bacon or crispy fried onions for crunch.

How do I keep the bread from getting soggy?

Layering cheese on the bottom creates a moisture barrier, and draining the beef well makes a huge difference.

Should I toast the bread before filling it?

No need! The bread warms and crisps in the oven as it bakes.
